Hiện nay Microsoft cho upgrade IE7 mà không cần "Windows Genuine Advantage authentication" nữa, do đó những ai đang dùng Windows XP lậu thì download được và upgrade thoải mái.

Microsoft allows pirate XP users to download IE7

Microsoft is to allow pirated copies of Windows XP to download and install Internet Explorer 7 without gaining Windows Genuine Advantage authentication, which is a move to boost security but not encourage piracy, according to the software giant.

Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) is part of Microsoft's Genuine Software Initiative. It is intended to help prevent the distribution and use of unauthorised versions of Windows. Previously, to download Internet Explorer 7, users had to authenticate to WGA.

"With today's 'Installation and Availability Update', Internet Explorer 7 installation will no longer require Windows Genuine Advantage validation and will be available to all Windows XP users," wrote IE7 programme manager Steve Reynoldsin a blog post on Thursday.


Microsoft said that it had dropped the requirement for WGA for security reasons

IE7 còn dổm lắm nhất là khi thấy bà con ùn ùn chuyển qua Firefox nên MS hoảng.

Nó cho Free Update nhưng ai dùng OE thì sẽ chết với nó vì sẽ không log on vô được, phải download cái patch mới, mà Windows xài key dzỏm thì "tiêu" với nó.

Đó là cách nó "bắt" sâu lậu - nhưng bệnh quỷ thì có thuốc tiên - À mà tui thấy có người dùng XP lậu vẫn cài IE7 được và không có trouble gì với OE hết.

Tui ở nhà hiện xài FF 95%, chỉ xài IE7 5% khi cần. Trong chỗ làm còn xài IE6 đến late Jan 2008 nhóm tui là nhóm đầu tiên bị xài Vista.

Nhắc đến Vista, mấy hôm nay làm "downgrade" máy cho khách từ Vista xuống XP lia lịa, tìm drivers muốn khùng luôn vì nhiều công ty họ không có driver support cho XP.(máy mới )

Thiên hạ chưa có quen với Vista, ngay cả Office 2007 cũng vậy, phải install cái utility để thấy giống như office 2003
